Bamboo in general is a tough and long lasting fencing material. And split bamboo is no exception to this. Split bamboo fencing is used frequently in warmer, more temperate climates and is actually the preferred material in both tropical and desert regions.
When you\’re using split bamboo fencing, you are able to create a fence that will be truly unique in appearance. But because the bamboo is split, it can be expected to lose some of its durability. When you compare it to solid bamboo which can last about twenty years, you can only expect that split bamboo will last for about ten years or so. A lot will depend on climate conditions.
Split bamboo fencing materials will be different than solid bamboo fencing materials. While most bamboo is solid, split bamboo is made out of the outer sections of the bamboo shoots. It\’s held together with galvanized wire. Because of that, split bamboo frequently comes in rolls.
Bamboo fencing panels are frequently made out of split bamboo.
Here is how it\’s done. To make up a single panel, split bamboo poles are connected using as much as six to eight rows of wire
Galvanized wire is put along the top and bottom of each pole. This is to make sure that the panels are solid. In the middle of each section, more wire is used. This wire is often rubber coated so the fencing has a degree of flexibility when the rolls of bamboo fencing panels are added.
These split bamboo fencing panels are then attached to some wooden posts. When the posts have been placed into the ground you\’ll have an almost instant fence.
One important thing to note is that you will need to use a frame attached to wooden posts that go into the ground. Bamboo doesn\’t last long if placed in direct contact with the ground. If you\’d like your fence to reach right to the ground, then simply frame in the bamboo panels using wooden boards going across the bottom of the fence.
You can also attach split bamboo fencing to an outer wall. With the beautiful designs in bamboo panels, it\’s easy to create a stunning backdrop for patio or deck. And it\’s even easier to attach this type of fencing to an existing fence.
Use split bamboo on any wooden fence. It\’s a good application because the bamboo will lie flat against the boards. You can then easily anchor it in place by using stainless steel staples on the top, in the middle and on the fence bottom. Then just cut any panels that are too long or too wide so they fit.
When you\’re applying rolled bamboo panels to chain link fencing, it\’s a simple process. You can either wrap the rolled bamboo around the chain link fence or drape the panels over the top of the fence. Then attach your panels with some heavy-gauge but flexible steel wire that you tie equal distances apart.
Consider split bamboo fencing as a real alternative to the many other fencing materials out there. Why not create a one of a kind look for your patio or backyard?
For a truly unique fencing solution, why not consider bamboo fencing. Bamboo fence panels make installation easy. Panels come in a variety of sizes and patterns. Choose from rolled bamboo fencing or split bamboo fencing.
