Riding lawn mowers are worthwhile investments if you’ll need to mow over 50% an acre. Although they cost rather a lot more than a push power the time you save will be priceless. There are a couple of things you must consider when picking the best model for your needs.
Deck size is one thing to look at. This tells you the width for the blade of your mower. Most folks are satisfied with a deck between 38 and 42 inches wide. Larger decks cut a wider area at a time and finish the job swiftly. Trees and other barriers need to be considered when picking a deck size.
A wide deck won’t save you any time if you’ll need to go back with a push mower between all your trees. Riding mowers can come with engines in the front or in the back. Models with rear engines will generally have better front visibility while you’ll have more power with a front engine models. There are many sorts of controls that are used by riding lawn mowers.

The options available are a gear lever and clutch brake combo, foot pedal controls, and the more advanced hydrostatic drive. Hydrostatic drive models will give you a smoother ride but are much more expensive. Judge whether you’ll be bagging, mulching or tossing the clippings the riding mower produces. Test to work out if you can simply switch between modes and if you want to buy additional accessories. Itis a smart idea to test many riding lawn mowers before you purchase one. Some things to take note of are how easily it steers and brakes, the degree of the turning radius, whether you are comfy, and the ease of which you can adjust the cutting height.
