I moved into a new neighborhood last summer, thinking it looked like a normal place to live. My neighbors all seemed nice and normal, there wasn’t anything too strange about them. The day after Thanksgiving, I changed my opinion. When I left for work that morning, all was well in my neighborhood. When I returned home in the early evening, my jaw dropped. I thought that perhaps I was on the wrong road. Apparently, my neighbors try to outdo each other with their outdoor Christmas decorations. The house directly across from me, as well as on both sides of my house, had outdoor Christmas decorations covering their front lawns and homes.

You can always tell the houses that have put a lot of effort into getting the perfect outdoor Christmas decoration together, and the houses that simply have not.

Many people think that Christmas decorations outside have to be a whole new thing, completely separate from any other decorations that you have used the rest of the year, but that just is not the case. Start by putting up your lights in nice, straight lines, instead of in the tange that you used last year. Think about varying the colors or the shapes of the lights. The important thing is that you take a little pride in your outdoor christmas decorations. It does not have to take more than a few hours, and it certainly does not have to cost a lot of money, but having the right outdoor Christmas decorations can sure make a big difference in your house!
